PASSENGER VEHICLES / CHASSIS
Subframes are designed to carry specific automotive components such as engine or axle and suspension. The purpose of using a subframe is to distribute high local loads over a wider area of the structure and to isolate vibration and harshness.
In general two different stiffness value is needed related with load distribution.
To provide this, sometimes slotted designs are preferred and sometimes sheet metal parts used to get static requirements. The subframe bushings, which are the component of the subframe, are also important members of this system for reducing vibrations and noise.
